Installation Overview
There are three ways to set up the platform. Choose the one that fits your environment.
| What's your environment | What to choose | Time required |
|---|---|---|
| A single server with internet access | One-line installation (recommended) | 20–40 minutes |
| Step-by-step confirmation and approval required | Docker installation | About an hour |
| Internet access is blocked | Air-gapped network installation | Bundle transfer time + 30 minutes |
| Distributed across multiple machines | Cluster installation · Kubernetes installation | Half a day |
Start with the one-line installation. It handles everything from downloading the package to environment detection, installation, and boot verification in one go.
Before you begin
| What to check | Documentation |
|---|---|
| Does the server meet the requirements? | System requirements |
| How much disk space should I allocate? | Data storage capacity planning |
Don't skip capacity planning. For time series data, it's much easier to increase capacity than to remove data — if you start small, you'll have to move the data later.
After installation — don't skip these
| Step | What to do | Documentation |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Change the default password | Changing the initial password |
| 2 | Launch and verify the stack | Startup guide |
| 3 | Inspect the database | Database management |
Don't move forward leaving the default password in place after installation. Once you hand it over to operations, opportunities to change it become rare.
What's next
Once the installation is complete, use the Quick start to feed in your first data, and then go through Displaying your first equipment data to see it on screen. For operations, refer to the Administrator guide.
